From the minutes of a high-ranking meeting in Prague on July 24-25, 1989, on Operation OHEŇ attended by the StB resident in Vienna, KP VRANOVSKÝ. It’s clear he faces criticism due to the operation’s failure to breach the main target, the U.S. Embassy. The minutes place the blame for this failure, among other reasons, on ‘poor knowledge’ of the embassy by the resident’s team, ‘poor coordination’ and the fact that the team of contacts is too small to meet the operation’s needs.
