I'm a freelance journalist, travel writer and author, based in Prague
I've been in the Czech Republic off and on since 1991, though for a few years during that time, I lived in New York. Before moving to Prague, I lived for five years in Vienna.
I write for publishers such as Lonely Planet, Frommer’s and Fodor’s
I'm mainly a guidebook author, though I mix it up by writing for travel magazines and newspapers and working as a destination expert for National Geographic Expeditions. My articles have appeared in publications like Kinfolk, BBC World News, the Wall Street Journal, and Wanderlust, among others.
My book, Čas proměn, is a personal history of the fall of communism
"Čas proměn" ("Time of Changes") is a collection of stories and memories from the period before the 1989 anticommunist revolutions and in the years immediately afterward. The book was published in Czech in 2021 by Albatros Media. Photo: Jamie Marshall.
