Details titled their story on Prague ‘Wild, Wild East’ — another catch phrase that would come to define the scene. Henry Copeland was an astute writer. This was one of my favorite lines from his story: ‘The city is the magnet of the moment for assorted and sordid drunks, Samsonite-toting carpetbaggers, snake-oil salesmen, hangers-on, recession refugees, moths to the torch of history and other seekers of fortunes and Fortune.’ Image from Lise Bretton.
