Top photo: In a typical year, my first post would be some kind of ‘list of places to go’ that year. But with Covid cases still climbing and international tensions now ratcheting up over Ukraine, 2022 isn’t looking like it’s going to be a normal year. With most of my travel-related work still on ice, for the first few months of the year, at least, I plan to focus on projects relating to my book and — hopefully — publishing an English-language version before year-end. Please pardon the ‘Shining’-inspired meme here. It may be too dark but sums up my mood on a gray January day.
