Not all of Kundera’s humor has held up over the decades, but his books are filled with biting irony (the foundation of Czech humor). A couple of my favorite bits from this book include the short opening on Clementis’s cap and ‘Part Two’: a funny, strange short story called ‘Mother.’ Photo: Mark Baker.
